By definition, an Excursion is ... "a short trip or outing to some place, usually for a special purpose and with the intention of a prompt return" ...
And from Miriam Webster ...
1 a: a going out or forth : a usually brief pleasure trip
2: deviation from a direct, definite, or proper course; especially: digression (needless excursion s into abstruse theory)
3: a movement outward and back or from a mean position or axis;
Others might just refer an Excursion to be more of a 'Field Trip'.
I pretty much agree with them all. After all, it seems that the Excursions that we go on really are trips to some place with a few deviations and digression, usually out and back, often down and up, although lately we have decided on up then down, and a goal of a pleasurable field trip with lots of pictures.
The pages of this blog will take you on some of our Excursions.
Hold On!
